Project RR

And so it started, one long drive from Arizona back to San Marcos, and a dream was born. While talking about wedding/honeymoon otions, we came up with the idea of getting a 1993 Range Rover, fixing it up for the perfect offroad beast... and making that our honeymoon. Well, not the range rover, but taking 2 weeks to really experience the offroad adventures of the west coast!

Then the quest began. Greg started researching the classic Range Rover. We decided for maximum flexibility that the 1993 Ranger Rover Classic LWB would serve our needs best! We looked and saw some for sale around the country. Ironically, our Rover mechanic, Eddie at West Coast Rovers happened to have just such a vehicle one of his customers was selling. We looked at it.... As you can see... It needs a lot of work and TLC. After looking around else where, we decided to take on this project! Right away we needed to replace the rear axel, as well as some basic service; tune up, transmission service, etc.

Here we will chronicle this part of our adventure. Keeping you posted on what we choose to do, the research we’ve done for each step and of course plenty of pictures to show you the progress. And coming soon... The tales with the newest member of our Rover Family!
